Overview

MBP has exciting opportunities for construction managers with experience in the construction of complex facilities that have a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment in anticipating and solving construction problems, managing project documentation and overseeing the construction quality process.  Experience in the federal, higher education, healthcare, or commercial industries desired. Experience in the delivery of data center and/or sensitive comparted information facilities (SCIF) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES:

 

Managing projects through construction, commissioning and close-out to include coordinating work of various project entities (designer, contractor, owner personnel).  Managing the receipt and processing of construction documentation, documenting construction management of construction quality to include ensuring that project QA/QC process is followed and verifying work is performed in accordance with contract requirements. Assists with the review of schedules, proposed change orders and contractor applications for payment.  Monitors and manages client project budgets and internal budgets.  Analyzes and optimizing internal and external processes.

Qualifications

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 

Report writing, client coordination, and carrying out assignments from conception to completion.  Proficiency with many software including Microsoft Office programs, CADD, BIM Platforms (such as Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk 360), graphics, scheduling (Primavera Project Planner or MS Project), and cost estimating (RS Means CostWorks).  Ability to work within budgets and meet deadlines.  Able to identify potential problems and derive recommended solutions from past experiences.

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to utilize computers (including Microsoft Office software) and other specialized equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret project drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to understand and track project schedules.
  • Ability to communicate issues effectively and responsibly (verbally and in writing) with internal and external customers (i.e., contractors, owners, subconsultants and fellow team members).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain industry certifications specific to duties assigned.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Able to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain.
  • Be a United States citizen.

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:

 

B.S. in industry-related field preferred.  Job relevant certification such as CCM, CCP, or advanced specialized technical knowledge.  Detailed knowledge of construction, principles of construction management and project controls, with specialized knowledge in several areas including scheduling, cost estimating, documentation, contract administration, construction techniques.  Knowledge of personnel and project management techniques.

 

GUIDANCE/RESPONSIBILITY:

 

Generally able to work independently and determine solutions.  Receives overall guidance on emphasis and approach.
