SUMMARY:
Co-ops/Interns will potentially gain experience in on-site construction inspection, documentation, research, computer applications, scheduling, cost estimating, plans and specifications, project close-out, report development, and safety.

Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES:

Primary function is to assist in the daily operations of the MBP team, while gaining experience and engineering knowledge for your professional development.

 

Responsible for assisting the commissioning (Cx) team in the preparation of proposals (equipment take-offs), project documentation, and on-site observations. Services are primarily focused on evaluation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems in new and existing facilities; control strategy optimization; and supporting client’s decarbonization and sustainability initiatives.

 

Responsible for compiling project documentation for:

  • System Manuals
  • Current Facility Requirements
  • Pre-functional checklists via web-based Cx software program
  • Final Cx Report.
  • Creates, updates spreadsheets in Excel for trend data analysis
  • Assists in reviews of construction documents and contractor submittals
  • Assists in on site observations, witnessing of contractor testing, and functional performance testing
  • Assists in the identification (via the web/publications) of requests for proposals for potential Cx business opportunities

 

Other duties as assigned.

The normal work period is up to 40 hours per week.  Overtime requests must be pre-approved by Operations.  Normal work hours are between 8:00am - 5:00pm Monday-Friday.

 

GUIDANCE/RESPONSIBILITY:

Work is closely supervised.

 

Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
