Overview

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION: 

MBP is seeking new Team Members for growth opportunities and to work on meaningful projects that support our community.  For this position, we seek candidates in the Washington DC/Bethesda metropolitan area with 20 or more years of combined education and/or experience and demonstrated advanced knowledge and expertise in project management related to the installation of Mechanical, Plumbing, and related systems. Extensive construction management and/or commissioning management experience in in healthcare, laboratory, education (higher-ed and K-12), and/or federal or local government projects is desired. Evidence of progressive career development and demonstrated expertise in leading projects or programs with a diverse team.

Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES:

Capable of managing project managers, multiple teams, and multiple assignments, taking projects from conception to completion. Actively engaged with the client, with the purpose of identifying new opportunities to expand existing work. Provides quality assurance reviews throughout projects. Prepares, monitors, and manages client project budgets. Responsible for setup, updates and closeout of project plans and opportunities in VantagePoint. Works with Accounting to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and collections. Works closely with Area Managers to support Team Member training, professional development, and performance reviews. Actively participates in company activities, including but not limited to Area and company-wide events.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE:

B.S. in industry-related field, advanced degree preferred.  Professional registration, other specific industry-related certification, or advanced specialized technical knowledge. Detailed knowledge of construction, principles of construction management, commissioning and/or and project controls, with specialized knowledge in one or more of MBP’s services. Knowledge and demonstrated experience in project management techniques including budgeting, leadership, training, and business development.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Expertise with MBP's diverse services. Initiates strategic approach to projects, marketing, and business development opportunities. Manages major clients, and capable of managing multiple teams and multiple assignments, taking projects from conception to completion. 

 

  • Ability to provide a team strategy to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to lead a team’s efforts to analyze and optimize internal and external processes.
  • Must have computer skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, email, Internet navigation, web-based tools and other specialized equipment.  
  • Able to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus and calmness. 
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills involving the ability to work cross-functionally to understand requirements, present alternatives, and recommendations. 
  • Strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills. 
  • Demonstrated team-building skills. 
  • Able to self-direct, manage, and prioritize. 
  • Willing and able to deal constructively with conflicts. 

 

GUIDANCE/RESPONSIBILITY: 

Provides training to less experienced personnel. Manages the profitability of projects and their forecasted budgets. Receives strategic guidance on overall objectives.

 

SUPERVISORY:

Ability to supervise large and/or multiple teams and independently perform analytical and management tasks.

 

STATUS:

Full-time 

 

SALARY:

$120,000 - $170,000 per year
