MBP is looking for a Senior Cost Manager in the Atlanta metro area to provide cost management, cost control, and related program management for manufacturing facility projects. If you have experience in these areas and are ready to take the next step in your career, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

As a Senior Cost Manager, you will provide cost management, cost control, and program management services for manufacturing facility projects in the Atlanta metro area. Responsibilities include:

  • Review civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression plans and specifications to understand project scope.
  • Perform site visits to assess project site conditions and constraints that may affect the construction process.
  • Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs of all labor, material, equipment, and resources on projects.
  • Review and/or prepare construction change order proposals.
  • Analyze project schedules to ensure alignment with cost estimates.
  • Provide tracking of the value of work completed on projects and compare to planned values.
  • Provide project forecasting and budgeting on projects.
  • Provide and predict contingency reserves for projects.
  • Analyze historical cost data to identify patterns and trends for forecasting future project costs.
  • Coordinate with team members to execute project scope, schedules, and budgets in conformance with project and customer requirements.
  • Collect required data to provide recommendations, prepare documents, and/or review deliverables for cost estimates, schedules, reports, RFPs, SOWs, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate with the client, team members, leadership, project stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare cost control reports such as those for project cost forecasting, tracking, and budgeting.

 

Who We Are Looking For

Experience:

  • Estimating or cost management experience on large construction projects.

 

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities:

  • Relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Advanced verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal guidance.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships.
  • High degree of initiative, personal responsibility, and integrity.
  • Interface and effectively communicate with others.
  • Knowledge of RS Means and/or other reputable cost databases.
  • Proficiency in usage of estimating software such as Costx, Sage Timberline, or similar.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Education/Knowledge:

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
