Position Summary:
The Contracts Specialist is responsible for managing the company’s contract management system and supporting all aspects of the contracting process. This position reviews, redlines, and negotiates third-party contracts; drafts and maintains the company’s contract templates; and provides general legal and administrative support to management. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives in a fast-paced environment. The Contracts Specialist reports to General Counsel.

Basic Function of Position
Working under the Construction Manager/Project Director of the on-site team, the Electrical Engineer is responsible for monitoring construction contractor performance for compliance with plans and specifications, reviewing shop drawings and other construction plans, developing change orders and cost estimates for the project. Incumbent must be capable of working independently.

Experienced in construction work activities, with demonstrated increasing responsibility, of the same or similar type as that of the project to which the Lead Engineer is assigned. Experience may be in the following sectors: federal, state, municipal, K-12 school, water/wastewater, higher education, laboratory facilities, transportation, ports or marina projects.
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION:
- Construction work experience and basic understanding of construction means and methods for transportation projects with a focus on VDOT or other DOT experience. Experience inspecting projects to include roadway widening, intersection improvements, signalization, bridges, roadway maintenance, streetscape, utilities, and work activities of the same or similar type.
